By creating an account or using Caveat, you agree to the terms below. These terms govern your use of the service during its invite-only beta period and afterward unless replaced by a successor agreement.

Beta

Caveat is currently in invite-only beta. The service is provided free of charge, is experimental, and carries no service-level agreement. Features may change, break, or disappear without notice. We may discontinue the beta, or the service entirely, at any time and for any reason.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit articles or invoke the analysis endpoint through automated scraping, headless browsing, or any non-interactive mechanism. The service is for individual readers, not crawlers.
  • Redistribute, resell, or republish analysis output commercially, either in raw form or as the basis for a derivative service.
  • Circumvent the per-account quota, share a single account across multiple people, or create additional accounts to evade rate limits or to misuse the service.
  • Submit material designed to attack the service: prompt-injection payloads aimed at altering analysis output for other users, exploit attempts, or content intended to harass identifiable individuals.
  • Use the service in any manner that violates applicable law.

Your content

The article URLs you analyze, and the analysis output we produce, are stored against your account as described in our Privacy Policy. You retain whatever rights you have in the source material; we do not claim ownership of it.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violation of these terms, for abuse of the service, or to protect the integrity of the system. Where practical, we will notify you by email before terminating an account. You may delete your account at any time from the account settings page.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Analysis output is generated by automated systems and large language models; it may be incorrect, incomplete, or misleading. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for any consequential decision.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.

Changes

We may update these terms as the beta evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, communicated by email.
